Quality

As health care professionals, our goal – directly and indirectly, is to help our patients smile! A person may not know the difference between a root canal and a filling, but our goal is to show everyone the difference that caring, education, attention and a smile from the staff can make. We aim to treat every patient with respect, compassion and excellent “patient-customer-service.”

Viva Dental stands apart from most general dental offices because
we incorporate and blend 3 important unique aspects of dentistry.

1) Focus on Children

smile-kid-viva12.jpgAccording to the Surgeon General, oral care is the #1 unmet need for children across the United States. More than half of all children between the ages of 5-9 have at least one dental cavity or filling and the percentage increases with age. Because of financial constraints, lack of understanding or knowledge and lack of accessibility, childhood caries is serious concern. Dental offices such as Small Smiles and Kool Smiles have helped the situation tremendously; however, these clinics alone can not efficiently meet the high demand. Availability for hygiene appointments in these offices can sometimes reach out as far as 90 days . Viva Dental stands alone in that we are the only dental office in the city that is both “child friendly” and available after school for students and parents that can not make regular business hour appointments.

2) Focus on Urgent Care

The NCHS reports that only about half of all Americans visit a dentist at least once per year. The main factor that determines whether an individual seeks dental care is usually whether he or she has dental insurance. The other major factor is whether or not that individual is in pain. Unfortunately, pain does not evade individuals without insurance, nor does it wait for a convenient time to schedule an appointment. When Immediadent opened in 2003 and began offering same day treatment from 9am-9pm 7 days a week, the idea was revolutionary. The concept made urgent care a reality for the “other half” of all Americans that do not periodically visit the dentist. We want to help fill that “urgent care” void. We also want to build on the idea of late hour urgent care by educating patients and encouraging individuals to schedule routine exams and cleanings after they complete their urgent care treatment.

3) Focus on Convenience for the Surrounding Latino Community

Within the last 10 years, the Hispanic population in Indianapolis has increased by more than 50%. Our office is located in an area where Spanish is commonly spoken before English and for many residents English is a second language. Although many existing business make strong efforts to break Spanish/English barriers, there is still a shortage of Spanish speaking doctors, lawyers, law enforcement officers, teachers, public officials and of course dentist. There are a number of businesses in Indianapolis that are staffed with personnel that can effectively communicate with native Spanish speaking individuals; however the demand still exists.  Having a bi-lingual staff helps us to provide the quality, comfortable care that so many Spanish speaking individuals in our local community deserve.
